About Us – Better Pest Control

Our founder, E.T. Hollander, began his journey in the pest control industry right here in Alabama back in 1975. Starting out as a technician for a large company in Birmingham, he quickly discovered a passion for protecting homes and families from unwanted pests. That passion led to the creation of Alapestco Termite and Pest Control, which E.T. built alongside his trusted partner, Armond Bragg. Together, they served communities across Alabama and the Southeast for over 40 years.

After selling Alapestco more than five years ago, E.T. felt called to return to his roots. With Better Pest Control, he’s bringing decades of hands-on experience and hometown care back to Hayden and the Greater Birmingham area—this time with a more personal, neighbor-first approach.

E.T. is known for his honesty, integrity, and commitment to doing things the right way. He’s worked closely with state entomologists and pest professionals throughout his career and continues learning to provide the best solutions possible—always with environmental responsibility in mind.
